What does it take to bring Mediterranean warmth into a contemporary apartment in Kochi?
ARCHES, TIMBER & THE ART OF THE COHESIVE HOME
This residential project at Joyalukas Gold Towers, Kochi draws from Mediterranean and Spanish Colonial styles. Softened plaster walls, rhythmic archways, and exposed timber rafters create a home that feels both worldly and deeply personal.
The arch serves as the central design idea, recurring across doorways, the TV console, kitchen openings, headboard niches, and wardrobe panels to establish a visual rhythm that ties every room together. A cohesive material palette of warm walnut, woven textures, and earthy neutrals run throughout, harboring sense of quiet continuity. Each space, while sharing this common language, is free to express its own distinct mood and atmosphere.

Within this cohesive design language, each space finds its own character. The open living and dining area basks in warm neutral, a courtyard alcove offers quiet contemplation under the glow of Edison bulbs. The kitchen makes a bold move with olive-green cabinetry and mosaic tile, and a moody black bedroom featuring gilded wardrobes and a four-poster canopy — shifts the register entirely toward Gothic Revival inspired romance.
