Can an old home hold the soul of a French bistro without losing its own?
FROM RESIDENCE TO RENDEZVOUS — ADAPTIVE REUSE DONE RIGHT
Forklore Bistro began as a modest residential building and was transformed into a warm, French-inspired café through a process of careful adaptive reuse. The project involved extensive spatial reconfiguration, rethinking the existing layout to accommodate kitchen operations, service workflows, customer circulation, and both indoor-outdoor dining.
Rather than erasing the character of the original structure, the design retains its intimate residential scale and worked within it. Celebrating the building's proportions and existing architectural elements.

The design palette draws from the relaxed charm of European street cafés — textured white walls, deep blue fenestration, warm timber accents, vintage-inspired lighting, and abundant greenery come together to create an atmosphere that feels unhurried and inviting. Outdoor areas were activated as landscaped dining spaces, extending the café experience into light-filled open settings. Every design decision balanced operational efficiency with guest experience, resulting in a space that is as functional for the team running it as it is comfortable for the people visiting it.
